Dr. Naeel’s passion is focused on providing high quality care tailored to patients’ needs, with an emphasis on shared decision-making to achieve the best possible outcomes together.

 

Dr. Naeel Mohammad is an Endocrinologist and Specialist Physician with vast experience in endocrinology, general medicine, and chronic disease management. He is an internationally qualified physician; he was granted the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in June 2019. In his home country of Syria, he received training in internal medicine and received his specialty certificate in 2003.

 

He later continued his education and was granted the membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians, UK, in 2013 and the Specialty Certificate in Endocrinology and Diabetes from the Royal Colleges of Physicians, UK, in 2016. Before relocating to Australia in 2017, Dr. Mohammad worked for seven years as a Specialist in Internal Medicine at Dubai Hospital, one of Dubai’s major tertiary hospitals.

 

He has practiced acute and general medicine at John Hunter Hospital, Hunter New England Health as a staff specialist in general medicine with a special interest in diabetes and endocrinology. He subsequently completed his endocrinology and diabetes training at John Hunter Hospital (Newcastle, NSW), Bendigo Health (VIC), Northern Health, and Austin Health (Melbourne, VIC).

 

Dr. Mohammad is well known for his expertise in managing patients with multiple comorbidities, chronic illnesses, and complex medical conditions. He has a strong interest in bone disease, general endocrinology, and diabetes complications.

 

He prides himself on the quality of care he provides to his patients. He is involved in perioperative care, working with surgeons to optimise patients’ medical conditions before and post-surgery.
