Dr Khan completed his medical degree at the University of Karachi before undertaking his residency at Aga Khan University Hospital. He subsequently completed specialist cardiology training in 2012, attaining Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. In 2013, he commenced a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Canberra Hospital, followed by a second interventional fellowship at Fremantle Hospital in 2014.

His clinical interests include ischaemic heart disease, hypertension, heart failure, and atrial fibrillation. He is committed to delivering comprehensive cardiovascular care across assessment, management, coronary intervention, FFR-based functional assessment, and calcium modification techniques including orbital and shockwave-guided PCI. His practice is grounded in the integration of contemporary evidence and advancements in interventional cardiology to optimise patient outcomes.

Dr Khan is an active member of multiple cardiology societies and regularly participates in national and international scientific meetings to remain current with emerging technologies and procedural innovations. He has a particular interest in FFR-guided PCI. He currently practises as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Heart of Canberra in Deakin and at Batemans Bay Medical Centre in Batemans Bay, NSW.
